The Nintendo 3DS Black Handheld Game Console (PAL) is a portable video game system that can display games as well as videos and images in 3D. No glasses have to be used for this. The Nintendo DS system measures 13.5x7.4x2 cm and weighs 227 g. In addition to the ability to play games in 3D, the Nintendo 3DS handheld can also take photos and videos in 3D. For this purpose, the console has a total of three cameras, two of which are attached to the outside of the system. These enable stereoscopic photographs as well as videos. All cameras in the Nintendo 3DS handheld have a resolution of 640x480 pixels, i.e. 0.3 MP. Recorded images can be modified with various effects and also sent via Wi-Fi. To do this, the console can go online using the built-in WLAN card. It is also possible to upload high scores or download updates. The device is controlled using various buttons, such as a sliding pad over the control pad, which enables full analogue control even in 3D games. The black Nintendo 3DS handheld also has an accelerometer that reacts to movements. The games for the video game system are available on modules. Photos and scores are not stored on the modules, but on an SD card that can be exchanged. The console can also play games from the Nintendo DS and DSi console, but only in 2D graphics. Power is supplied by a lithium-ion battery with 1300 mAh and a power supply unit.
