Autumn 2010, “I attended the elementary school of Shurin Gakuen, a private school in Tokyo.” Sixth grade elementary school student Kurou Nadeshiko was leading a relatively peaceful student life together with her childhood friend Riichirou, when she began having strange dreams almost every day. They were dark and gloomy dreams of a desolate world covered by a black sky colored in red and blue. One day, Nadeshiko and Riichirou are summoned by the new teacher, Shinshitsuji, with other students rumored to be problem children and lower-ranking students. The teacher then tells them, “I’m going to give you, the problem children, an assignment.” Together with their makeshift friends, the group struggles to complete the assignments and lead a fulfilling school life while a number of mysteries are gradually encroaching on their reality. In the midst of this, a transfer student appears before Nadeshiko, someone she has meet in the Dream World, whose appearance seems somehow familiar and so, the gears of fate begin to turn.
